-Innovation through Science Networking Europlanet 2020 RI’s science networking activity aims to integrate and network the providers of planetary science infrastructures with the users and with the wider European Planetary Science community and European Industrial partners. Europlanet 2020 RI is holding 25 scientific workshop-type activities over the 4 years of the project.  As an advanced Research Infrastructure, a key objective is widening participation in the 13 ‘Inclusiveness’ EU Member States, as well as the inclusion of industrial partners, e.g. from EUROSPACE, to develop new technology applicable in future space missions, providing a significant impact both for science and technology. Activities support the inclusion of amateur communities in European planetary science campaigns, engage young scientists with the European planetary science community and promote Open Access as a method and tool to disseminate data and research results. The Exchange programme (which is open to both academic and industrial partners) facilitates short term visits and exchange of personnel.

-Impact Through Outreach and Engagement. Impact Through Outreach and Engagement. Europlanet 2020 RI has an active outreach and dissemination programme to engage European citizens with the scientific, social, economic and cultural impact of planetary science. The Europlanet Media Centre and Europlanet’s social media channels provide news from the European planetary science community and commentary on planetary events. Europlanet 2020 RI promotes public engagement through science communication training and best practice workshops, the Europlanet Prize for Public Engagement and a funding scheme. Since 2010, Europlanet has been leading other European research infrastructures in engaging policy makers with the cutting-edge science and technological challenges of planetary science and exploration.  Please visit www.europlanet-eu.org for more information and follow us on social media.
